This work begins with the house where I grew up. My intention was to paint about the place that I know best, and the familiarity of my home was something that I felt comfortable depicting. However, as time passed with the making of the work, my perspective began to change. Information from memory, pictures and stories of family members helped to form a narrative that blurred the boundaries between truth and fiction. After a visit "home" my brother and I revealed separate childhood accounts of seeing a Tyrannosaurus Rex on the property. Did our eyes deceive us? Who will believe us?
